My Story
My whole life has been a relational learning experience! I grew up in a family of 9 children, 2 parents and a grandparent. It was a very busy household, and we all had our daily/weekly tasks. Learning to contribute to our family at a very young age was one of the best gifts I was given.
My husband and I worked together for most of our married years, operating our own small business and employing many people of various ages. There has been and continues to be many opportunities to be an ear for those struggling in their relationships; opportunities to offer encouragement and share the knowledge I attained through reading many books and through my own life experiences.
Why I do what I do
Very early on in my marriage, I realized that I needed to learn how to make our relationship work, how to resolve conflict, how to communicate effectively, how to thrive. I am an avid reader, so I began to read many books on marriage and how to wisely teach our children to live life. (I also enjoyed learning how to manage people and communicate effectively as we started out in business.)
I am in my 65th year of life at the time of writing this. This year, we will celebrate 48 years of marriage and I love my husband more now than ever! I have two wonderful adult children, a daughter, a son, a wonderful daughter-in-law and we are blessed to have a beautiful and much-loved granddaughter who is about to graduate High School! If you are doing the math, you will realize that I was a very young bride married to a very young husband. You can also assume correctly that there were plenty of bumps in the road, times of great discouragement and times of losing hope along with the good times.
My Goals for this website
I am passionate about relationships, with God, in marriage and family relationships. Relationships that are not just surviving- but thriving! My goal in this website is to share the wisdom, ideas and resources from the various experts I have learned from. Many of the Expert Authors and Teachers have similar ideas and methods but have various ways of expressing them – so it is helpful to get a collective look at their advice.
I think we would all agree, marriage and family relationships are often very challenging; they can create a lot of stress, heartache and growing pains. However, the challenges can, and should be, an opportunity for learning, growth, forgiveness, and deeper love if handled in the right way.

My Passions
My first passion in life is to love Jesus and make His love known. Without the relationship I have had with Him for many years now, I know I would not be writing this today because my life would most definitely look very different than it does. Of that I am sure!
I love to play the piano, (and sing too when no one is around to listen) 
I love learning, reading/studying and writing, baking, biking, walking, playing pickleball and keeping in touch with friends and family.
