Trust God's Plans To Deliver the Best Outcome!
This story will reveal the need to Trust God’s Plans To Deliver The Best Outcome!
The Biblical account in Exodus of the Israelites’ escape from Egypt is a remarkable one! Do you know how the Israelites came to be in Egypt in the first place?
In this post, I want to summarize the story of Joseph. He is one of my favorite Bible characters because of his unwavering trust in God through some very, very difficult challenges!
Joseph is going to have to trust God to deliver the best outcome with all that happens to him!
Joseph’s half brothers, (sons of Leah, Jacob’s other wife), hated him! Joseph’s father, displayed extra affection to his son Joseph as he was the firstborn child to him by his wife Rachel whom he loved deeply.
His father presented him with a specially-crafted garment of many colors. The brothers were jealous of Joseph and did not like his dreams which portrayed Joseph ruling over them.
As soon as the opportunity arose, they decided to get rid of him. First they were going to leave him in a pit to die but then they seized the opportunity to sell him as a slave to some Midianite traders who were on their way to Egypt where they sold him.
Joseph, by faith, chose to trust God with every detail of his life even though his life was full of unjust treatment for years!
To be sure, Joseph experienced many trials in Egypt including time in prison through no fault of his own. It would have been so easy, so human to feel sorry for himself and to doubt that God was still looking after him.
However, in due time, when the circumstances were right, God blessed Joseph’s faithfulness and he ultimately became ruler of the land, second only to King Pharaoh! Wow, quite a transformation!
God uses Joseph to save his family from starvation!
Because of his wisdom and understanding (given to him from God) to interpret a very difficult dream which was not even described to him, he was put in charge of preparing Egypt for a seven year famine. This was the interpretation of the dream that God revealed to him: that there would be seven years of great harvest and then seven years of severe famine.
Because of his great wisdom and understanding, Joseph, was put in charge of preparing Egypt for the famine. Due to his powerful position, he was able to bring his entire family from Canaan to Egypt during the famine.
God saved Joseph’s family from starvation during the seven year famine, by using Joseph, who had lived in the land of Canaan with his family. So, that is why the Israelites were in Egypt!
As in Romans 8:28 NIV
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
God can take even the meanest intention (the intention of Joseph’s brothers) and make it work for good.
Moses is another man of God who would have to Trust God’s Plans To Deliver the Best Outcome!
This is another remarkable Biblical account of God’s care for His people! It’s the story about how God raised up Moses to deliver His people from the land of Egypt where they had all become slaves.
So, years later in Egypt, after Joseph’s death, the Israelites have become very numerous, so numerous that they have become a nation within the nation of Egypt.
Egypt, under new leadership, became very fearful of the power that the Israelites could potentially have in their Country. So, the Egyptian authorities enslaved them, worked them to exhaustion. Nevertheless, they continued to grow in number rapidly.
A new more aggressive law was made to try to stop their population from growing. All baby boys were to be put to death! Moses is born and his mom has him hidden to save his life.
The Israelites were in great bondage, moaning and they cried out to God to rescue them. Another remarkable story-you have to read it to get all the details, this is just a quick summary! This will be another post 🙂
After reading this Biblical event, we surely want to learn how to overcome our fear, our self reliance and learn to trust God’s Plans To Deliver the Best Outcome!
- Exercise your Faith muscle. Everymuscle requires exercise to remain strong and grow in strength. As we exercise our faith, it grows…so exercise your faith. Pray instead of worry. Meditate on God’s Word, listen to His quiet prompting in your heart. Seek Him first in everything.
- Remember the past. In God’s Word wefind many, many promises and God’s faithful answer to prayer. We need to – remember and reflect on all the times that God has been faithful to us personally in the course of our own life – how He has never abandoned us, has always provided for us. We can be encouraged by reading the amazing biographies of those who have gone before us.
- Look to the cross. Above all, let us call to mind that the One we are trusting in “God did not spare His own Son butgave Him up for us all” Romans 8:32 Yes, God has provided for us in tangible ways. He has brought about opportunities for education, employment, special Christian friends, loving spouses, housing, healing, and many other examples could be added here. And yet there is no greater example of how trustworthy God is than through the cross of Jesus Christ. We were dead in our sins and transgressions. We were helpless to do anything for ourselves. But God, in His great mercy, provided for us and turned us from outcasts to adopted sons and daughters. If we want our trust to grow, then there is no better place to fix our eyes than the cross.

Prayer of Response
Heavenly Father, Your word is so honest and revealing of our weak, sinful nature. You know we struggle with trusting you for all kinds of reasons as Pete Scazzero relates in his post. Father help us look to you as the example of perfect love we can always trust. Help us to meditate on and memorize scripture that will always remind us of your faithfulness.
When we fail Father and choose to go our own way, help us to quickly repent and turn back to you.
We pray this in Jesus mighty name, AMEN
