I had someone say to me recently, “The more I’m around you, the more I like you.”
And I thought, can this really be true of me?
I never really believed that about myself.
I always believed the more people saw me the less they respect me or the less they’d love me.
I want YOU to believe that about yourself.
The more they REALLY see you, the more attractive your life will be, and the more of a blessing to others you will be.
You’re not trying out for a role in people’s lives where you have to entertain them.
You don’t need to prove that you need a spot in the room.
Stop auditioning in that room.
And start CONTRIBUTING.
Start seeing people you come across as an opportunity for you to DEPOSIT something, not to PROVE something.
Focus NOT on what they think about YOU, but what you caused them to feel about THEMSELVES.
Put all that energy AWAY FROM YOU, and put it ALL on the people that are around you everyday !
You WILL see a very short term difference !
It HAS to be about GIVING, and NOT what we’re getting.
Employ your personality to HELP someone, or ENCOURAGE someone.
It will always feel like a burden if you make it about YOU…
So make the SHIFT.
Notice the moments when it’s not about you at all.
Quit worrying about how you come across to people, and start thinking about what you can bring to THEM.
