The importance of receiving the priceless, exclusive Key to Heaven
A man was asked by a homeowner to look after his house while he was away. Before leaving, the owner handed him a key to the front door.
“This is the key,” he said. “Use it whenever you need to enter.”
The man took the key, thanked him, and the owner left.
A week later, the man came to check on the house. But instead of bringing the key that had been given to him, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his own house key.
Confidently, he walked up to the door and tried to unlock it.
But it wouldn’t turn.
He tried again… and again… and again.
Frustrated, he stepped back and said, “This makes no sense. This is a key! It should work.”
But no matter how hard he tried, the door would not open—because it was not the key the owner had given him.
It didn’t matter that it was a key;
It didn’t matter that it looked right;
It didn’t matter how sincere or determined he was;
It was simply the wrong key.
Why did he choose not to use the owners key? He believed that his own key would work just as well.
In the same way, many people try using their own key to Heaven —good deeds, self-righteousness, religious rituals, church attendance, baptism, or simply trying to be a “good” person.
But God has already given the only key that opens the door.
The key to Heaven is Jesus Christ—His
sacrificial blood shed for the forgiveness of sin, offered to us by God’s grace and love.
Jesus Himself said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
We can try every other key, but none will open the door.
Only Jesus opens the door.
The Key to Heaven
John 14:6 records the words that Jesus spoke to Thomas when he asked Jesus the way to where He was going.
What is the Key Meaning & Interpretation?
The Way- Jesus identifies himself as the single path (key to heaven) to God the Father;
The Truth- Jesus is the ultimate embodiment of divine truth;
The Life- Jesus is the source of both physical and eternal spiritual life.
Further understanding of the meaning can be found in this article from the website gotquestions.org, “What did Jesus mean when He said “I am the Way, The Truth and The Life”? John 14:6
The above article closes with this paragraph:
So how do we follow Him today? The same way the disciples did long ago. They heard the words of Jesus and believed them. They took His words and obeyed them. They confessed their sins to Jesus as their Lord and God. They believed that He died to take the punishment of their sins and rose from the dead to give them new life. They followed His example and command to tell others the truth about sin, righteousness, and judgment. When we follow Him in “the way,” we can be assured of following Him all the way to heaven.
We do not get to change our eternal destiny after death
The following verses give us warning concerning this truth:
Hebrews 9:27; Luke 16:19-31; 2 Corinthians 6:2; Hebrews 2:3; Hebrews 3: 7-8; Hebrews 4:7; John 3:1-15;
Matthew 7:21-23 reveals a terrible day for those who reject Jesus. In these two verses, Jesus is delivering a stern warning to people who outwardly appear religious but lack a genuine, internal relationship with Him
John 3:16-17 says:
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” NLT
Don’t miss out on Heaven, Jesus is THE WAY!
Yes, indeed, God is Love, God is also just and justice follows death.

I love to research and write about how we can live in peace, with patience, passion and purpose in our relationships. The most important relationship being with Jesus who died to provide forgiveness of sin for all who will come to Him.
